Revision of Arctic Flora Research Team from Fri, 2013-04-26 19:41

<p><span>The Arctic Flora research team includes scientists from Canada, Alaska and Norway who share common interests in plants, their taxonomy, and the Arctic.  We work at museums, government departments and universities.</span></p>
<p><span>The Project Secretariat, based at the Canadian Museum of Nature in Ottawa, Ontario, is responsible for leading, coordinating, and managing the project.  It includes two project co-leaders and a </span><span>research assistant.</span></p>
<p><span>The Scientific Steering Committee includes the project co-leaders and one external scientist.  The steering committee is responsible for making major decisions about the research direction of the project, with input from the entire research team as necessary.</span></p>
<p><span>In addition to members of the project secretariat and steering committee, the Core Research Team includes eleven researchers who bring diverse and deep expertise to many aspects of the project.  The team includes internationally-recognized experts on the taxonomy of specific (and difficult) plant groups, the global arctic flora, and biodiversity informatics.</span></p>
